Rewriting IaC Modules for Application Disaster Recovery

The Challenge

The infrastructure was already running and defined in IaC, but the existing modules were not designed for disaster recovery. Recreating application infrastructure in a secondary region was not reliably possible from the modules as written.

Our Solution

Refactored and rewrote the existing IaC modules so each application's infrastructure is fully reproducible and can be redeployed for recovery. The rewrite made the modules parameterised and region-aware, turning a running-only setup into one that supports controlled, on-demand disaster recovery.
